Taiwan' s IT hardware industry comprises eight main sectors: notebook PCs, desktop PCs, motherboards, servers, LCD monitors, CRT monitors, optical disk drives, and digital still cameras. Taiwan holds global market share of over 90% in motherboard and notebook PC manufacturing, and over 80% in LCD monitor manufacturing; these figures indicate the important position that Taiwan occupies within the global IT hardware industry.
