Abstract
The shipment value of the Taiwanese residential VoIP (Voice over Internet
Protocol) equipment industry advanced 6.2% year-on-year to US$381.6 million in
the first quarter of 2008, while shipment volume rose 16% to 8.3 million
units. The shipment volume of VoIP routers dropped 22.4% year-on-year to
308,000 units in the first quarter, shipment of TA (Terminal Adapters) plunged
42.2% to 177,000 units, shipment of IAD (Integrated Access Device) jumped 42%
to 3.7 million units, and that of VoIP E-MTA (Embedded Multimedia Terminal
Adapter) rose 6.9% to 4.1 million units.
