Abstract
The report is devoted to investigation of current standing of market of
gondola cars in the CIS and forecast of its development. The report consists
of 4 Sections, contains 54 pages, including 13 Figures, 27 Tables and Appendix.
This work is desk study, added by the use of expert appraisals of specialists
of the branch industry, obtained from telephone interviews. As information
sources, we used data of Rosstat, , Federal Customs Service of Russia,
Committee on Statistics of Ukraine, Customs Service of Ukraine, official
domestic railage statistic of JSC RZhD (former Ministry of Railway Transport
of Russia), sectoral (industrial) and regional press, annual and quarterly
reports of companies, as well as data from web-sites of company-producers and
company-consumers of gondola cars.
The first Section of the report presents classification and characteristics of
gondola cars, produced in the CIS.
The second Section is devoted to analysis of production statistics for the
period of 2000-2006, including data on production gondola cars in Russia and
Ukraine, and analysis of current standing of the main producers of gondola
cars.
The third Section is devoted to analysis of Russian and Ukrainian foreign
trade in gondola cars in 2000-2006.
The fourth Section presents analysis of consumption of gondola cars in Russia,
Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. The Section offers supply-demand balance of the
products. The section presents data on length of railways in Russia, including
the data, broken by regional branches of Russian Railways, description of the
main consumers of gondola cars in Russia (JSC «RZhD» and private
carriers), data on transportation of freight kinds, carried in gondola cars:
coal, iron ore, pellets and sinter, copper ores.
The fifth, final Section of the report presents forecast of production of
gondola cars in the CIS up to 2010.
The Appendix includes addresses and contact information on the main
company-producers of gondola cars.
