Abstract
The report is devoted to investigation of current standing of market of tin in
Russia and forecast of the market development up to 2015. The report consists
of 10 Sections, contains 60 pages, including 12 Figures, 37 Tables and
Appendix. This work is desk study. As information sources, we used data of
Rosstat, Inter-state Committee on Statistics of CIS countries, Federal Customs
Service of Russia, official domestic railage statistic of JSC RZhD (former
Ministry of Railway Transport of Russia), sectoral (industrial) and regional
press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as data from
web-sites of company-producers.
The first Section of the report presents brief characteristics of current
standing of global market of tin.
The second Section of the report presents brief characteristics of current
standing of market of tin in the CIS (summarized in tabular form).
The third Section presents is devoted to analysis of current standing of
mineral resources base of tin in CIS countries, the bulk of which belongs to
Russia, as well as to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The fourth Section briefly presents data on mining of vein and placer tin and
production of tin concentrate in the CIS.
The fifth Section of the report presents description of current standing of
the main tin-mining enterprises in the CIS. The bulk of tin in mined in Russia.
Data on production of tin metal and tin-based alloys in the CIS are shown in
Section 6 (in brief tabular form). The sole producer of tin in the CIS
territory is JSC «Novosibirsk tin combine» (NOK). The sixth
Section of the report is devoted to analysis of current standing of NOK.
The eighth Section of the report presents data on Russian foreign trade in tin
concentrates and tin metal.
The ninth Section of the report presents analysis of consumption of tin in the
CIS, including supply-demand balance of tin, sectoral (by end-uses) pattern of
tin consumption, description of current standing of the greatest
enterprise-consumers. Consumption of tin in CIS countries, except Russia, is
determined by tin imports only. In the CIS, tin is consumed in Russia,
Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The main end-uses of tin are production of tin-plate
and nonferrous metal alloys (solders, babbit, bronze). Tin is used in food
packing (in lining cans) and in machine building.
The tenth Section of the report presents forecast of development of market of
tin in the CIS up to 2010. InfoMine expects increasing production of tin in
Russia in nearest years, owed by expanding production volumes in machine
building and food industries (key tin end-uses) in CIS countries.
The appendix presents contact information on the main enterprise - producers
of tin concentrates, tin metal and tin-containing alloys and similar data on
tin consumers.
