This brand new title and first edition is thought to be the first time the Indian paint industry has been covered in depth by any of the leading paint information sources. This is the first of several country-specific Profiles we are planning to cover in 2003.
The Indian paint market is widely perceived as one of huge potential and partly owes its continued growth to rising personal wealth and innovation on the part of its leading paint companies. While the organised sector is responsible for a majority of the market, the contribution from the small-scale sector remains appreciable at about 40% of the market. Recent growth estimates from the paint industry have been placed at 8-10% pa.
