South Africa will be rich with opportunity for the coatings industry and its
suppliers in the coming years, largely as a result of increased state
expenditure on construction and infrastructure.
In the run-up to the country hosting the World Cup in 2010 there will be
strong growth in all coatings associated with construction as facilities,
transport and tourism all gain from high levels of investment. Furthermore,
other neigh-bouring countries are also likely to benefit in the fields of
tourism and accommodation as tourists flock to the south of the continent. The
automotive industry and regional export opportunities are also potential areas
which should be attractive to the coatings industry and its suppliers. These
