Abstract
ADVA Optical Networking develops, manufactures, markets, and sells
Optical+Ethernet-based networking solutions to telecommunications carriers and
enterprises to deploy, manage, and deliver data, storage, voice, and video
services in metropolitan areas.
Its flagship Fibre Service Platform (FSP) is a highly scalable, multi-service
optical transport and access solution featuring a rich set of Ethernet
features, which is used by telecommunications service providers, financial
institutions, automobile manufacturers, insurance companies, high-tech
companies, government agencies, and universities worldwide. As of June 2007,
ADVA Optical Networking solutions had been deployed at more than 200 global
carriers and service providers and 10,000 enterprises around the world.
ADVA Optical Networking commenced operations in 1994 as ADVA Integration
Service und Entwicklugg von optischen Systmen und Komponenten GmbH. On January
25, 1999, the shareholders agreed to transform the company into a stock
corporation, and it subsequently launched an IPO on the Frankfurt Stock
Exchange. Since that time, the company has operated under the name ADVA
Optical Networking.
As of June 30, 2007, the EGORA Group held a 13.8% equity stake in ADVA Optical
Networking, with the remaining shares on a free float.
