Abstract
"The total production value of packaging machinery within the EMEA is expected
to reach nearly €18 billion by 2012 experiencing a CAGR of 5.4%. Filling
& dosing machinery was the largest market accounting for over 23% of the
packaging machinery production revenues. It was also the machine type found to
offer the largest opportunity for automation component suppliers targeting
packaging machinery. The market is particularly attractive for automation
component suppliers as the automation content of a machine typically accounts
for about 15% - 20% of the total machine cost."
This is one on the many findings from the IMS Research study of packaging
machinery in Europe, the Middle East & Africa. The study was written at a time
when the market is going through a period of steady growth. Most suppliers
reported a growth year in 2007 and this is projected to continue in 2008. The
data contained within demonstrates how the EMEA market is likely to evolve
over the next five years and in particular the extent to which regions like
The Russian Federation & CIS, Poland and Central & Eastern Europe will
influence the total EMEA market by 2012.
IMS Research' s aim in writing this report is to provide companies interested
in the EMEA packaging machinery market with detailed information on its
current status and future development. Within the report detailed assessments
of market sizes and forecast growth areas are provided in terms of both
machinery produced in EMEA and machinery sold into EMEA. In addition, an
analysis of the total value of the automation & drives products used in each
machine type is provided for 2007 along with a directory of over 900 packaging
machinery suppliers.
