Abstract
Vehiclemakers now use sunroofs and other roof systems to help differentiate
product offerings to customers. In other words, roof systems are fast becoming
part of a car' s identity. The small, rectangular roof window is being outshone
by more eye-catching designs. Panoramic sunroofs stretching the length and
breadth of a vehicle are becoming increasingly popular on both sides of the
Atlantic, and manufacturers are reporting an "unbelievable" amount of interest
in large sunroofs.
The sunroof has subsequently emerged as a key styling feature and can, in some
cases, replace the majority of the roof panel. But, while novel panoramic
glass roofs flood more light into the cabin, they can also introduce more
weight, noise, solar control and cost issues.
This latest edition of just-auto' s roof systems report reviews the key market
drivers for vehicle roof systems, and updates market analysis. It provides an
overview of the vehicle industry, and includes top level market fitment,
volume and value forecasts through to 2013.
