"There are 163,000 organizations in operation in the European CPG market, 69%
of which can be classified as small businesses with between 1-9 employees. For
larger scale IT investments, IT vendors should focus on the remaining 30% of
the market. However, for revenue growth opportunities and concrete inroads into
this tightly integrated industry IT vendors are advised to first target larger,
internationally operating organizations, and such companies account for
approximately 4% of the CPG industry, but account for approximately 75% of the
IT revenue generated," said Jennifer Thomson, program manager, Manufacturing
Insights. She continues, "To win, vendors must continue to prove the value of
IT as well as demonstrating sound understanding of industry-specific business
processes. There is a growing focus on innovation and business process
transformation; companies will be seeking partners able to aid them in
achieving long-term business success."
