Abstract
This Manufacturing Insights report presents Manufacturing Insights' annual top
10 predictions for both global- and North America-based supply chains.
Bob Ferrari, program director of Global Supply Chain Research, states, "As
manufacturers and retailers enter 2007, there is an overriding business
atmosphere of ' cautious optimism.' Global supply chains will again be tested on
their overall abilities not only to support more profitable products and
services but also to respond to uncertainty in supporting rapidly changing
geographic markets, imbalances among supply and demand, and inevitable physical
supply chain disruption. Manufacturers and retailers that emphasize agility as
well as cost effectiveness will provide the key differentiator for
profitability and sustainability for 2007 and beyond."
