region analysis on cadmium production. It features major cadmium producers,
prices, supply and demand conditions, international trade, etc. The review
also includes future outlook of the world cadmium market.
Cadmium is a
highly toxic metallic element mostly produced as a by-product of zinc
refining. The bulk of cadmium in use is in nickelcadmium (NiCd) rechargeable
batteries. Other major uses are in pigments and in metal coatings.
