Abstract
The accessories and furniture sectors, have felt the effects of the slowdown in the DIY and home improvements market. Consequently this has created a difficult trading environment for the manufacturers in this highly fragmented supply structure. That said, the market for bathroom furniture and accessories achieved growth of 43% in the last 4 years, reflecting the effects of a buoyant housing market and a strong period of consumer spending between 2002 to 2004.
This report examines the hypothesis that “while manufacturers continue to push the theme of bathroom as a luxury sanctuary, are they missing vital opportunities to cash in on the growing trend for energy saving and water conservation?”
