Abstract
In the last two years the market has seen many changes to the retail structure; from the MFI buyout to the rapid growth of kitchen specialists forcing DIY sheds to review their offering.
The kitchen specialists have driven premiumisation into the market. Innovation in design, functionality and materials, together with increased demand for specialist installation services, is the fastest growth segment of the market.
However, consumer confidence is being affected with interest rates rising five times in the last year alone. The impact of this can be seen in the drop in the number of consumers buying new kitchens today.
