Abstract
Mintel last examined the UK market for dining room furniture in November 2005, at which time it reported a market in decline, with sales around 8% below 2000 levels. The market had failed to capitalise on the housing boom of the early part of the decade, and the highly-fragmented manufacturing sector was struggling to compete with cheap imports entering the market.
