The Spanish market for dishwashing detergents continues to grow, but at a slower rate, due to economic uncertainty and reduced consumer spending. The declining sales of automatic dishwashers will mean the end of double-digit growth in dishwasher detergents.
Total sales reached €346 million in 2007, up by 4.5% on the previous year. Hand dishwashing detergents and dishwasher products now account for equal 50:50 shares of value sales. Further growth of just under 4% is forecast for 2008, to take the market to €359 million.
