Abstract
This report analyses the future opportunities and threats in the Asia-Pacific
voice market over the coming years. By 2010, we expect the Asia-Pacific region
with India and China to host over 2 billion fixed and mobile voice
connections, 42% of the global total. 77% of voice connections in the region
will be mobile by 2010, and nearly 85% of these voice connections will be
based in emerging markets within the region.
Among the key messages of this report are:
- Mobile growth is the biggest driver in the Asia-Pacific voice market
- The VoIP threat will take longer to emerge
- Fixed- mobile convergence (FMC) will drive structural change
