IPTV has been hyped as a defensive strategy for incumbent operators, but current deployments are still nascent in Asia and implementation is difficult. Nevertheless, carriers continue to commit to the IPTV business. This report asks what are the drivers behind the growing popularity of IPTV strategies? And what are the overall prospects for IPTV development in Asia-Pacific, China and India?
