Abstract
Key activities and milestones for the development of safety-critical
Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communications (generically
termed V2X) are analysed in SBD' s research "A progress report on V2X
communications in Europe".
The report identifies solutions being considered and the systems that vehicle
manufacturers are most likely to adopt for the initial deployment.
Additionally, it reviews the on-going efforts to allocate a dedicated
frequency for ITS communication in Europe before focusing on the critical
deployment issues that still have to be resolved.
