Abstract
This report characterizes the world market for high-brightness LED driver
integrated circuits (ICs) for the year 2006 and the forecast for the years
2007-2011. The market is segmented by applications and is based on the
analysis of the HB LED market presented in the Strategies Unlimited report
titled High-Brightness LED Market Review and Forecast - 2007 (August 2007).
The ICs addressed by this report are used to drive commercially available
InGaAlP (red-orange-yellow) and InGaN (blue, green, and white) LED devices.
The second section of this chapter gives the definition of HB LEDs. The report
also includes an analysis of the market for power management units (PMUs) sold
mostly in illumination applications.
Chapter 2 provides an application analysis with a discussion of key market
drivers and estimates for market size for each of the subsegments and power
management units. The 2006 market data is also broken out by key geographic
region.
Chapter 3 presents the 2007-2011 forecasts of units, average selling price,
and revenues for driver ICs by application, and a revenue forecast for PMUs.
The Appendix is a list of driver IC market participants with references to the
targeted application segments of each company.
