Abstract
VDC is pleased to announce the release of the first Volume of its Merchant
Computer Boards for Embedded / Real-Time Applications Market Intelligence
Program, 2008. The Volume comprises an examination of the present and future
markets for Slot Single Board Computers and Embedded CPU Blades. Included are
current market sizes and forecasts through year 2012, along with brief
descriptions of emerging technologies in this space.
Research Highlights
Year 2007 actual shipments of Single Board Computers and Blades of all
architectures were 9.7% higher than had been projected in VDC' s most recent
previous study, published in 2006. This increase is largely a result of
higher-than-expected ATCA, CompactPCI and PCI shipments, as well as the
inclusion in this study of AMC CPU Cards (which were not included in 2006).
Excluding the AMC CPU Card revenue for 2007, actual shipments were 9.1% higher
than the previous forecast.
